PIAGGIO GROUP: REPRESENTATION AGREEMENT WITH THE BEANSTALK GROUP FOR VESPA BRAND

Pontedera, Italy 11 June 2007 — The Piaggio Group, Europe?s leading manufacturer of two-wheelers, and The Beanstalk Group, the world's leading strategic brand licensing consultancy , today announced an agreement to add the Vespa trademark, a name inextricably linked to the image of the first, most famous scooter ever made, to Beanstalk?s roster of global clients.

As the exclusive licensing agency for the Vespa brand, The Beanstalk Group will manage and develop an international licensing program that builds on the heritage and visibility of the Vespa brand, and on its natural affinity with many major product categories.

First produced in 1946, Vespa is presently enjoying an exciting new period of international success. Sales of the brand have doubled in volume in only three years: from little more than 50,000 units produced in 2004 to approximately 87,000 in 2005 and over 100,000 Vespas produced in 2006. The growing success of this extraordinary brand both in Europe and the United States is emblematic of Italy?s world renowned creativity and industrial know-how. And it is in Vespa?s outstanding results that the keys to the growth recorded by the entire Piaggio Group in recent years can be found: intrinsic brand value, an ability to innovate, both technologically and in design, while respecting each brand?s values, and a vigorously pursued strategy of expansion throughout the world. ?Today, building on Vespa?s brand values and worldwide notoriety and by using Beanstalk?s international organization, professionalism and dynamic approach to brand licensing, enhancing our own internal expertise, we are embarking on a new path, this time in the field of product licensing, to better serve our loyal consumers as well as reach new consumers,? said Daniele Bandiera, General Manager/Operations for the Piaggio Group.

?Vespa is not just a scooter. It is an authentic design icon, a way of life, and a living legend. We chose to work with The Beanstalk Group because they demonstrated an unparalleled understanding of the Vespa brand?s potential. We are absolutely delighted to be working with Beanstalk?s teams to develop new and exciting brand extensions that build on the romantic yet contemporary lifestyle image of Vespa,? said Paolo Gagliardo, head of the Piaggio, Vespa and Gilera Brand Unit for the Piaggio Group.

?We are honored to be chosen by The Piaggio Group as their strategic partner in developing and executing a worldwide licensing program that will reinforce the image of Vespa - - romantic, colorful, Italian design and performance-oriented - - and maximize the potential of the Vespa trademark in multiple product categories,? said Michael Stone, President and CEO of The Beanstalk Group.
